Starting Again
It's sort of like a novel you can't finish--gets stuck in your head. you shove it In a drawer, do something else, but then... So Book Concerns is starting again, with a few reviews, some guest commentaries, and stuff that generally catches my interest and has to do with books. We'll start with this tribute to one of my state's own: "Bud" Guthrie.
Born on 13 January, A. B. [Alfred Bertram "Bud"] Guthrie, Jr.'s (1901 - 1991) three major novels (Big Sky, The Way West, and These Thousand Hills) chronicled the struggle of determined families settling the American West along the upper Missouri and Columbia rivers. Guthrie also co-wrote the screenplay for the classic movie Shane (novel written by Jack Schaeffer). more details
