Nevada Mystery

Murder In the Rimrocks is a well-crafted mystery set in northwestern Nevada. Archeologist and BLM Special Agent Marcie Gibbs begins an investigation into vandalized petroglyphs that might have something to do with a missing BLM worker. She soon becomes the target for fanatics, thieves and paramilitarists. A lot of police procedure, with several government agencies involved. Excellent descriptions of the land and weather, and the archeological aspects of the Paiute Valley. Gibbs is a resourceful and likeable character.
Author Gladys Smith has published four books. Her first two books each won the WILLA Literary Award, her third book was a WILLA finalist. With this 2006 (released in Ocober) book, her first contemporary story, she just might be courting another award. Visit her web site.
